Making sense of employment law
employment lawyers for employees
We recognise that employees will have different requirements. We can assist
you in negotiating the best possible employment terms, including salary, benefits, restraint of trade clauses, service and consultancy agreements.
Where an employee requires advice due to unfair treatment by an employer, we will work with you to ensure that your workplace is a fairer place to be. We will always ensure that we offer the best possible solution for you personally, which may include bringing a claim in the Employment Tribunal or court, or negotiating a settlement on your behalf.
what will it cost?
We recognise solicitors' charges can leave people feeling they have no access to the law. Often they go without help until the problem becomes critical. At martin searle solicitors we are committed to providing expert advice at affordable rates.
If you have a low income or receive state benefits you may be eligible for Legal Help Funding to cover some of the costs of preparing your case. You may also have the benefit of legal expenses insurance without being aware of it. Before making an appointment we will determine whether you qualify for any of these funding options and discuss the alternatives.
Alternatively, you may want to see one of our solicitors' using our fixed
fee initial interview scheme (£150 plus VAT). We provide a one-hour
advice session to advise you on your employment rights and the merits of any
complaint against your employer.
If it is necessary to instruct us to do further work after the initial interview,
we will discuss funding rates appropriate to your financial circumstances.
discrimination services
Our team is particularly interested in discrimination issues and has a great deal of experience in this area. We can advise and represent you - where necessary - if you feel you have been discriminated against. For example, you may have been refused a job or been dismissed because you are pregnant or had problems returning to work after your baby is born. Or perhaps you are being treated less favourably because of your disability, sex, race, religion or sexual orientation.
