Making Sense of Landlords’ Rights and Landlords’ Law

Legal advice for landlords

At martin searle solicitors we help people like you who have:

  • Let their home
  • Bought a property to let
  • Bought or inherited a property with sitting tenants

It is crucial landlords get appropriate advice about landlords’ rights as swiftly as possible, especially with:

  • Rent arrears policy
  • The accelerated possession procedure
  • Getting rent arrears paid

A letter from a landlord’s solicitor can be enough to get a problem tenant to clear rent arrears and avoid future arrears because of the threat of legal action. If it does not, enforcing your rights as a landlord at an early stage against problem tenants will result in regaining possession of your property and peace of mind.

Why choose us to provide landlords’ law advice?

Our team of landlords’ solicitors will take your housing law problems seriously from the outset, ensuring a fast and efficient service to resolve any problems such as rent arrears or anti-social tenants.

See our housing law factsheets in the resource centre including our Tenancy Deposit Scheme Factsheet

What will it cost?

We recognise solicitors’ charges can leave people feeling they have no access to the law. Often they go without help until the problem becomes critical. At martin searle solicitors we are committed to providing expert legal advice for landlords at affordable rates.

We offer a range of specific landlord services at set fixed fees. You may also have the benefit of legal expenses insurance without being aware of it. Before making an appointment we will determine whether you qualify for any of these funding options and discuss the alternatives for paying for our landlord services.

Alternatively, you may want to see one of our solicitors using our fixed fee initial interview scheme (£150 plus VAT). We provide a one-hour advice session to advise you on your landlord rights and the merits of any complaint against your tenant/leaseholder.

If it is necessary to instruct us after the initial interview, we will discuss funding rates appropriate to your financial circumstances.
