Intro
I am an experienced Employment Lawyer based at our Birmingham office.
Expertise
I have particular expertise in:
- All types of workplace discrimination, particularly disability discrimination, sex discrimination and race discrimination.
- Unfair dismissal and constructive dismissal, including whistleblowing
- Advising on collective bargaining and trade union issues.
- Bringing and defending claims in the Employment Tribunal, including undertaking advocacy at Preliminary and Full Hearings
- Assisting with grievance and disciplinary processes
- Delivering training on discrimination in the workplace.
- Post-termination Restrictive Covenants
- Advising on TUPE, reorganisation and redundancy processes

I act for both employers and employees.
Qualifications
I graduated from Nottingham University with a 1st class BA degree in English Studies and completed a Master’s degree in English shortly after. I converted to law in 2014 via the Graduate Diploma in Law at Cardiff University.
I joined the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2024.
I am a member of the Employment Lawyer’s Association.
Other experience
After converting to law in 2014 I spent several years working for charities who provided free employment law advice and representation to individuals on low incomes. This included providing employment law advice and representation service users in the employment tribunal.
I later became a Senior Employment law Advisor for a national trade union, and later a large trade association.
Prior to joining martin searle solicitors I worked as a Senior Employment Lawyer for the UK’s biggest trade union law firm.
I have a life too
I enjoy squash, cycling and am a regular fundraiser for a youth homelessness charity in Birmingham (St Basils). I am also an unashamedly big fan of karaoke as an outlet for my underlying Welsh roots.
