Abbreviations Used In Community Care

Dealing with situations involving Community Care Law and procedures can be difficult and overwhelming for clients and their families. There can be a lot of misunderstanding surrounding the language used by healthcare professionals, Social Services and outside bodies,  as they sometimes seem to talk in riddles and acronyms and letters don’t always make sense.

To help you make sense of the muddle while dealing with the difficult situation, we have created a downloadable pdf document of all abbreviations used in Community Care Law for you to keep and reuse when required. We hope that this will make the task of understanding the situation you are facing easier.

You may find the download helpful if you or a family member are facing any of the following situations:

  • Hospital Discharge
  • Appealing against NHS Continuing Care Decisions
  • Withdrawal of Continuing Healthcare Services
  • Social Services Financial Assessments
  • Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults or Adults at Risk
  • Court of Protection Litigation

Download our abbreviations used in Community Care Law handout [PDF 136k] and our abbreviations used in SEN and Disability law handout.
