“I am an experienced Community Care Law solicitor advising on Paying for Care and challenging public law decisions made by Health and Social Services.”
I have been practicing health and social care law since 1999. I am recognised as an expert in the field of Double Recovery. I assist Personal Injury lawyers, Professional Deputies, lay Deputies and clients in relation to the impact of Double Recovery when paying for care in relation to Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence settlements, historical care packages and future care funding provisions.
I regularly take cases to Judicial Review that arise from breaches of duty by Health or Social Services. These cases typically involve inadequate levels of state funding or inadequate care packages for clients with complex needs.
I am instructed by Personal Injury lawyers, Professional Deputies, lay Deputies and clients who have disputes with Social Services or the NHS. This includes clients who have:
I graduated with a 2.1 from Leicester University in 1995. I have since completed my LPC and completed an LLM in Welfare Law.
I am also a member of the Housing and Immigration Group which deals with a variety of legal and community care issues. We challenge unjust and unfair legislation in some cases legislation has been taken off the books due to our dog-eared determination in these matters.
I am a keen thespian and when not practicing law, I can be seen ‘treading the boards’ in various theatres.
I have an MA from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and enjoy writing plays which I direct and produce.
