I believe education is a basic human right. I know how crucial it is for children with Special Educational Needs to receive the correct educational placement and provisions.
I am a solicitor in the Community Care Law team at our Brighton and Hove office. I specialise in Special Educational Needs and Disability Law for children and young people who have complex education, health and social care needs.
I have expertise in:
I represent carers, family members, service users and Professional Deputies who require help and advice in various issues surrounding Community Care Law. I also advise and represent Professional Deputies on Education Law matters.
I graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in English Literature before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law at BPP Law School and the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London. I qualified as a solicitor in 2013.
I trained and worked in the Clinical Negligence team at Leigh Day on behalf of bereaved parents and children with complex care needs as a result of brain injuries acquired at birth.
More recently, I worked for East Sussex’s Special Educational Needs and Disability team as a caseworker and Tribunals Officer before joining the Education and Community Care law team at Martin Searle Solicitors.
I have also worked as a volunteer for the National Autistic Society as an Advisor on their Education Rights helpline.
I enjoy reading, sketching and taking long walks with my partner and our cockerpoo on the South Downs.
